All new for 2012, the Breedlove Voice C25 concert is an all solid wood guitar made in Breedlove's Bend, OR custom shop with a revolutionary all new pickup system.
The body is Breedlove's super comfortable concert cutaway shape with a Sitka spruce top and beautiful figured Mrytlewood back and sides. Myrtlewood has the appearance and sweet brightness of figured maple coupled with the depth of rosewood. This combination makes for a well balanced, full sounding guitar that is great for finger picking or strumming. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard adorned only with a "V" inlay rendered in pearl and abalone at the 12th fret.
The big surprise with Voice Series guitars happens when you plug in. They are designed to sound exactly the same as they do unplugged. They feature the LR Baggs Anthem SL pickup system. The system consists of a Baggs Tru mic noise cancelling pressure zone microphone attached to the bridge plate that picks up 80% of the sound, coupled with an under saddle element run through an internal crossover that provides bass frequencies only from 250HZ down. Normal internal mics can only be used sparingly without feedback and harsh boxy tone. This new technology allows you to get the majority of the sound from the mic and avoid the dreaded piezo "quack" of most acoustic amplification systems.
Breedlove went one huge step further sending each of the Voice Series guitars to Lloyd Baggs for extensive customization of the preamps to complement each body style and selection of woods used in each model. The goal of this labor intensive process was to hear the true voice of each guitar through any system with minimal feedback even at high levels. The experiment was a striking success. You must hear these guitars to believe them!
